Ignition barrel problems!

Hope somebody could help me here.

My ignition barrel has started to stick so going to get it sorted. I have another barrel and key from another is200 and was wondering if i could swap the internals from my old key into the new key and use the new barrel? 

But then would my old key still work in the doors without the internals? 

Any help would be greatly appreciated
