Misfire below 3000 rpm on 220d

I have just bought  a  2007 is 220d  which I drove 260 miles  home in it with no issues .I drove  it this morning  all OK this afternoon  I had too do an emergency stop .after this the car is misfiring below 3000 rpm I let the car cool down and on start up the car was OK for a short while but the misfire returns . Any ideas please ?

It is tricky to diagnose these things.

All I can tell you is that mine misfired slightly under load and it turned out to be a very dirty fuel filter.  Apparently, since it is a pig of a job, most garages (main dealers included) ignore it.

However, you are saying yours is temperature related?  When you say you let the car cool down, do you mean completely cold or just a few minutes?

Thanks for the help shahpor you got me thinking about fuel so Yesterday I put two bottles of injector cleaner and shell

nitro diesel  and today the problem  seems too have gone any ideas ?
