Caller Display

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

New to the forum as although I have had 2 x IS200's a few years ago, I have just bought an RC 200T.

Love the car and the toys but just one little niggle - I can't get the caller display to work? It's a premium navigation system and I have an iPhone6 running the latest firmware.

When a call comes in, despite there being a name against the number in the Iphone, the car's display reads '<unknown>' and the telephone number.

Can someone offer a little guidance please?

Thank you in advance

Neil

Hi Neil and welcome to the LOC. We are a friendly bunch so please don’t hold back asking questions big or small should you have any problems with your car. We always welcome ideas on how to overcome problems with our cars but as they are the finest cars in the universe they don’t go wrong that often.

We always love to see pictures of your cars inside and out so don't be shy.

I am sorry you are having problems with your caller display but I am sure the membership will be very helpful.

Happy Lexus Motoring.

Welcome Neil,

I have the same problem, but have never tried to find a fix as I have a vent mounted phone cradle and just look at my phone instead.

I had assumed however that because I enter my phone numbers +44 and not just 0, that that was the cause.

If you find a solution I would be interested.

James.

I don't know why or how it's supposed to work, but the caller's name shows on the display (usually but not always) only when my iPhone

(an ancient 4S model) is connected via one of the USB sockets and not via BT.  Failures to show some names might have something to do

with how you have entered or arranged them in your directory.

Actually, James22 got me thinking (thanks James)

I am in the habit of using the +44 number format as I used to travel Europe on business a lot many years ago. I changed my home number to lead with a '0' and like magic, the caller display worked :yahoo:

So... that's the answer I think - remove the +44 from all numbers

Really pleased to have found it (prompted by James of course).

Thank you everyone.

Neil
