Hi all, just joined. Bought my very 1st Lexus is220d se on friday. Very impressed upto now and i dont really want to turn the engine off. Previously had an Astra sri cdti 150, and wanted to get the same car but a newer model, so off to the dealers me and the mrs went. I had seen the car i wanted but was a little dismayed to find some rust on it when i got there. So i took out a golf 2.0 tdi sport. Dissappointed in that too. Then the mrs said "Come and look at this", it was the lexus, took it for a test and fell in love with it. Bought it there and then. The comfort and spec on this car are fantastic, apart from a few rattles and bumps when i drive down any of our "well maintained roads". I can live with that, and for the age and mileage(118000) it is in very good condition. Looking forward to many miles of motoring in this car and getting to know a few of you and learning how best to treat this thing of beauty. Cheers.Chris.

Hi Chris and welcome to the LOC. We are a friendly bunch so please don’t hold back asking questions big or small should you have any problems with your car. We always welcome ideas on how to overcome problems with our cars but as they are the finest cars in the universe they don’t go wrong that often.

We always love to see pictures of your cars inside and out so don't be shy.

Happy Lexus Motoring.

Ok. Pics of my car are now uploaded. I am still loving the car, but a few bangs and knocks when out driving, sorting these out bit by bit. Mostly poor fitting tools in the boot and a couple of clips missing from the engine covers, but got the clips now and removed the tools from the boot, so much better now. I think the exhaust mountings could be loose too, so will be getting that sorted this week. Quite a bit of damp in the boot, but i cant find any missing seals, so will have to investigate this further. Fuel consumption seems to be around 31-33 urban. I hve not had her out for a long run yet, but will be going up the motorway for a spin later in the week. Overall, i am very impressed, much more comfort than my MX5.

That is the second great looking red, shiny, very clean IS I have seen on here recently.  It is even more impressive when you consider the age and mileage.  The wheels are in remarkably good shape as well.

31-33 urban isn't actually that bad.  In London I will manage late 20's.
