Feel free to slate me 😧

I think it's held together with no more nails. You wouldn't make it to work Rusty....

@Big Rat

Okay, I'm not sure you're ready for this but ....dragged from the archives, in order of least modified.....it was a while ago...particularly the Soarers, I'm nervously including a pic of the Soarer TT 'infotainment' system just for your amusement.

GS430 Gen2 high in the French Alps en route to Monaco.

The later GS430 was the quick silver model.

High spec V8 Soarer Limited with air suspension near Ullapool in NW Scotland on the trail of the NC500 long before it was called that. This was my favourite.

TT Soarer with bodykit on the South Downs near Devils Dyke and Fulking - careful how you say that.

The days of the digital dash, cruise to work, play some sounds, log on to the PC and if you get stuck in traffic, watch TV. All from a Soarer built in 1991.

Both Soarers had big hifi systems installed. There was a thread on the SC400 US site many years ago about inspirational interiors (or something like that) and I sent in a night shot of this little lot under construction with a Centrafuse display, etc. I can't find the picture but it wasn't well received by the traditionalists. I learnt that evening why the Soarer was packed full of tech in Japan and a completely analogue SC400 in the US. The Soarer had the digital dash, active/air suspension, ultrasonic mirrors, rear camera, on board diagnostics, etc. It was way ahead of its time.

This is the lesser but quicker 2.5 GTT with TEMS.

After all the work I did to it, it met with a sudden sad end in Germany in the hands of the new owner on the drive back. Just a few miles from home, in sleety conditions, it slid off the road into the armco at around 40 mph. Earlier it had reportedly been doing 163 mph on the autobahn. The young driver walked away with very minor injuries but the car was a mess.

@Neil E

Wow Neil a Lexus man through and through, a fantastic informative reply a really interesting read. I wish now in years gone by I'd taken a more serious look at the Marque and models.

To much time and money on the German stuff which clearly were much less reliable at times and way behind on the tech stuff.

Those proportionate clean lines of the Soarers and the Gs just looks right......especially the second one it's the colour 😏

A proud history fella and you are clearly someone who likes to use them as well love that Alps shot.

Some may say you and others on here may just may have had the best days of the models.

Thankyou for sharing.

@Big Rat Yes been into Toyota Lexus for some time. There was an LS with an occasional ribbon but no banner and again in the correct colour.

@Neil E that soarer interior looks like a brand new e-class merc! Maybe they copied your design 😁.

@Rusty Crobar

I think this is a copy of the picture of the TT carputer progress report that woke up the SC400 club across the pond. I'm not sure that it inspired Mercedes a decade or so later but it was fun to do it.

And whilst I'm in the archives, I'll confess to a few more crimes against the Soarer and hope for leniency. The older blue V8 had a little hifi/AV system.
