hi there my power steering ecu on my lexus is220d has failed, Im just curious as to know if i purchase a second hand one if it will just plug in and work or if it will needed to be coded in, i have searched online and rang up a few people selling them but i cant find out any information, any information would be much appreciated, many thanks Kieran.

Hello,

According to the manual, you doesn't need to be coded, but it does need to be calibrated.

In order to do this yourself you would need a copy of the TechStream software.  It can be found cheaply on eBay.  This is an example:
