Had few more parts turn up and  had a day off today so cracked on with it...

New air con condensor came, got a quote off the dealer for over £230! This cost me just over £80 so quite a saving.

Wanted to be stealthy looking like the factory 1 so gave it a quick spray with some satin black.

Compared to the old 1....

20181003_160604.thumb.jpg.7011cf16bf064115ee8d1c0104611820.jpg

Looks so much better now!!

My alternator belt also turned up so that got thrown on. Also fitted my sparkplugs, went for NGK iridiums heat range 8 ready for some boost.

20181003_153654.thumb.jpg.142632a57ecd591c8f61e739f34adcd7.jpg20181003_180059.thumb.jpg.e462fdc58ee7db42926b504d71addd8d.jpg

Next up was the radiator, i ordered a mishimoto for some extra cooling and the original had a slight leak on it. Looks stunning!20181003_164444.thumb.jpg.9a9e77ca202b9750c5b1670bc0250b6b.jpg

I then gave the fan cowling a good clean up and got that fitted.

20181003_163747.thumb.jpg.6458a21366f52b42b1921045eb5b1255.jpg20181003_163804.thumb.jpg.69aa450cca3109c8b0ece34a9f574ea7.jpg20181003_164838.thumb.jpg.eba2a89e951ee341b42e39c86b637c57.jpg

Now this is when i ran into a small issue, the fan cowling was hitting the crank pulley when fitted due to the extra size of the pulley.20181003_172258.thumb.jpg.8ebe9188781d9c7435ec3b22ff8f013e.jpg

Luckily it was only a small part of the plastic so pulled it back out and trimmed it down with the dremmel. No pictures of this but now it has around 8-9mm of clearance. So with the radiator in and condensor fitted i then had to freshen up the horns as these was looking weathered. Quick clean up and some satin black and they was looking fresh again.20181003_160251.thumb.jpg.8bff884307d4dd388e79cb42d14af2fa.jpg20181003_210706.thumb.jpg.61b875c501ca72cb6077813a8e329a35.jpg

And now the final pictures of it in the bay, getting excited now! Feel like ive got so much done and looking so much better, front panel will also be painted at some point and it has a couple of rust spots.

Enjoy 🤤

I'm amazed you kept those weedy "meep-meep!" horns. They are terrible, the worse I've had on a car, and I've had a Marina!

Then again, I guess you can let the turbocharged 2JZ do all the talking. 😁

Nice update Rob. No matter what the obstacle you just overcome it. This build should have its own video channel.

Will you run the car before adding the body kit or complete the whole thing before the launch?

I have really thought about doing a vlog of sorts but the black country accent sounds horrific on camera 😂 i will probably get it running 1st with just the base map then once all the kit is on and complete i will get it tuned

Aah, don't worry about it. I don't know why people have such a downer on the black country accent. We'll miss regional accents when they're gone.

Anyway, can't wait for your UK tour to show us all your handiwork. 😉

Tell me about it i cant wait either, interested to see how it will do down santa pod but it wont be directly set up for drag racing. I hoping to do a couple of trackdays in it aswell...... with the boost turned down a little

You do the pictures and we’ll find a voice for the ‘lexerotica’ channel.

Little update, ive had a change of plan with the project.........

So this was the original plan i had body kit wise but ideas have changed.

Im thinking of keeping the body standard looking. Now i may struggle getting the power down but im thinking it may be possible to get a 265 wide sticky tyre on 9.5 inch wide rim.

The more and more i look at pictures of a standard body IS300 lowered the more i feel its the right thing to do.

On another note i have sorted the down pipe, i ordered a down pipe off topspeed pro.

This pipe is designed for a left hand drive car so it was a risk as i have the manifold 1 side and the steering column the other side to contend with. A quick trial fit shows its not going to fit but......... the down pipe came with a vband flange..... problem is my BW s364 turbo has a marmon style flange. So i ordered a marmon flange off eBay to get welded on, turns out by welding the marmon onto the vband it made it fit absolutly perfect!!!!

in the 2nd picture you can see just how close it is to the column, this has pretty much the same gap the other side to the manifold.

All i have to do now is get it joined upto to the center section with the 3 to 4 inch flare.

This then gave me a new problem, the heater matrix hose was now touching and in the way of the down pipe.

20181011_180220.thumb.jpg.00e1770ce6652774af5eb43720b6739f.jpg

I had a couple of bits of spare coolant hose about as i had removed the transmission cooler and replaced another pipe. So had a play with these bits of spare pipe and cooked this up

20181019_105213.thumb.jpg.aac6a7be540c908279919a4a677ca829.jpg

Almost bang on just need to join the 2 together.

20181019_115322.thumb.jpg.4686d391943b2ca509a9509cdd068db4.jpg

Then throwed it back on to test it. Perfect 👌 just need some heat protection for it now.20181019_120920.thumb.jpg.0a2e2492aa3a41949c7130650cf58ea4.jpg

Nice work again Rob, dispensing with the body-kit plan must bring the launch day forward a little.

Would you please confirm receipt of my IS300 2JZ GE NAT #No compromise 2019 calendar order?
