@NemesisUK - my point was - it doesn't count because you cannot actually the rider hitting the mirror, just swinging his hand towards the place where you would expect mirror to be. So the reason it doesn't count is not because it is footage from dashcam, but because it doesn't prove the damage "beyond reasonable doubt".

@Texas - I do agree, he got away lightly this time. Obviously, prosecution and £700 of damages would be much more worthy lesson... I just how that if there is at least tiny fraction of human being in that guy, maybe being arrested and taken for questioning going to make him consider same action next time. Maybe not.. Obviously, prosecuting him would have had more benefit then just verbally warning, but it is as it is.
