I have a 2006 IS 220d and a few weeks ago had the AC re-gassed as not working.

It was cold but not as cold as my Volvo 940. Lately I noticed the drivers side vents blow slightly warm and not as cold as passenger side vents. I read this as either air motors could be faulty or the HVAC flaps stuck and not cheap to fix.

Is there any way to test the AC functionality of the air motors and a diy guide on cleaning and re greasing the AC flaps?

Another issue yesterday is the air out the vents are getting less cold. Suspect possible leak? I was hot but the car didn't seem particularly cool on Auto, AC, max cold and interior recirculation.

Is there any common fail leak points on the AC system on a Lexus IS 220d?

Yesterday noticed the auto setting never reduced the fan speed as the cabin cooled on my 25 mile journey, which it did when the AC was first re-gassed.

I have done lots of AC work on re -commissioning my 940 Manual control AC at a cost of £300 and if easy/cheap I'll do the Lexus. Once you have AC you miss it!

Suspect it wasn't working due to repair cost. It would be nice to just get ice cold air on passenger side to cool the car.

James.

TechStream is the software that interfaces with the Lexus OBD socket.

Check this whopper of a thread https://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/112998-system-too-lean-error-codes/

it has some screenshots of TechStream in use.

like mentioned here https://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/115464-techstream/ you should only used genuine licensed versions!!!

I haven't used mine for a while but do recall an AC ECU Tab but to what level it interogates I do not know.
