Hello to you all.... Is a wheel brake Dust cover required for an MOT...Front passenger side.......

I have just been on to Lexus of Bolton and they quoted £351.67, just for the Dust cover...............Beyond belief

Must lie down feeling faint.................... Cheers Roy.

By wheel brake dust covers I presume that you mean the brake backing plates?

As I understand the test, fronts backing plates aren't part of the test as no brake components hang off it.  If they are removed then the brakes still work.

Rear backing plates where drum/shoe set-ups are in use, are part of the test and need to be in servicable order.

Certainly take a seat. The good news is a perfectly serviceable second hand part, cleaned and if you dare, painted will be yours for a few quid. Fitting a few quid. Leaving you many hundreds of pounds to invest in a new chair to collapse into when you persist in calling main dealers.

I do buy OE parts btw. I lie down before the call.😂
