I'm considering a 2001 IS300 Sportcross to replace my dying Saab 9-5 HOT aero wagon.

I appreciate the Lexus will be smaller and possibly even slower than my (modified) Saab but I'm hoping other owners will be able to give me some pointers...

What are the cars like to drive/own? Is parts availability good, are they pricey?

I'm frankly expecting good things from a reliability standpoint and driving the FR configuration should be fun too [emoji57]

Presumably the owners club is better than the Saab, right? [emoji12]

Hi Rob. Welcome to the LOC.

I can't comment on the Sportcross but my 2002 IS 300 saloon is still as tight as a drum and drives extremely well. Looked after these seem to be bomb proof. You can throw it around a bit if that takes your fancy but it's extremely comfortable around town or over distance.

Parts availability appears to be very good but I wouldn't know about price because I haven't really needed any. Mine was 15 years old when I got it last year and it was sat on the main dealer's forecourt with a year's worth of Lexus warranty. Can you think of a European brand that would do that?
