Hi there,

Im new to this & I have a RX400h and recently have got a new phone and now my Bluetooth doesn't work. Seeing as it's a fairly old car now I'm wanting to get an updated interface. Any one recommend anything?

I've found this ... https://www.seicane.com/pure-android-in-dash-dvd-gps-system-for-2004-2010-lexus-rx-400h-with-bluetooth-hd-touch-screen-obd2-dvr-rearview-camera-tv-1080p-video-3g-wifi-steering-wheel-control-usb-sd-s217010

Looks good but not sure on it as has no reviews, wondering if anyone has installed anything similar?

Many thanks

Luke

I tend to find the Chinese head units a bit disappointing and tend not to be as sophisticated as the Japanese manufacturers.

I fitted a Chinese one into my old Volvo. The FM sensitivity wasn't as good as the original head unit, there was no facility to dim the screen with the lights on, the sound wasn't as crisp either.

Just little niggles, but in the end I reverted back to the old non-touch screen head unit because it just worked better. The Chinese one ended up in my boat so I could watch videos from a USB stick.

I'm not saying it's the case with this particular head unit, but I've had similar disappointments with other Chinese head units as well.

Personally I'd be wary of spending so much money on one, certainly without someone else giving an honest review.

Hi there,

I completely agree, I was speaking to a few people & they thought exactly the same. The last thing I want is to go through all the work of installing it & then it's not reliable or not up to scratch.

Thanks for the advice.

Try Connects2. If theres a good replacement head unit for your car they'll be able to help you. As for Chinese replacement units. Stay well clear.

Personally I don't like the look of that one you posted the link to. The gear knob looms to block it's view.

I haven't got an RX300 anymore but I sincerely doubt that. Your eye-line is well above and you look down on the display, so I wouldn't think that there's any way the gear lever could block your view.
