Low pressure windscreen washer

Recommended Posts

Hi all, The windscreen washer is producing low pressure and I'm not sure how to remove the bonnet cover to get to the pipes. It's got those plastic pins. The car is a 2007 is 220d.

Thanks, I have managed to get my hand to feel the devider and it's still intact. I've found a joint on the passenger side and used a compressor to blow through, it did kick out some grime but still low. I'll try to pop the washers out now and the other thing I can think of is that I may have put too much washer fluid to make it snotty. I've been on youtube 🤣

It's unlikely you need to get to the pipes. Have you tried clearing the jets with a pin?

I've tried to use a needle, this is the first time I've had a car without being able to see the actual jet heads, it's got a plastic covering.

Is this still too low? It's getting better so I think it was a combination of grime and too much washer concentrate. I'll post pictures of what I did in a bit. If you need to do this in future remember to operate washers for 15 seconds and allow 15 seconds cooldown otherwise you'll end up burning out the pump.
