Power and electric problems

Afternoon

Having a couple of issues and not sure where to start with this.

First up I have 3 doors out of 4 that are not responding to the central locking at the around the same time this started I have a problem with the Battery draining

the Battery drain is can happen at anytime not just when the care is stood for long periods of time. For instance the i used the car all morning called into my mums house for 30 mins tried to start the car and nothing there so jumped the car no problem. this happens to me no nearly everyother day.

In the past two days have had intermittent power loss whilst driving, I change gear usually around 2,3and 4, I press the accelerator but nothing happens give it a few seconds the revs pick up and off I go. There are no error codes showing up its not going into limp home.

I am not sure what to do with it if I am honest, any help you can offer would be great.

Thanks

Hi Ryan, how old is the Battery?  If it's original, then it's likely toast.

Today's cars are heavily reliant on a solid 12v power supply to juice up the many computers, sensors, etc.  If the 12v supply isn't solid then all sorts of odd electrical gremlins can start to surface, so this is where I would start my investigation.

Have you had the Battery and alternator checked?

Ah, well in that case then you've more of challenge on your hands.

Yes, checking all the earth straps aren't worn and that they have a clean pickup to the chassis are definitely worth investigating.

Then you should look for what maybe causing a parasitic Battery drain, YouTube has some useful vid's.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Have you ruled out a leak?  My father had a similar problem and it turned out he had a very small leak which was spraying oil into the rotor and stator causing failures like you mention.  Would of thought that'd be picked up though upon replacement unless they were simply looking to get the bad one out without much of a look around.  Should be easy enough to check.
