Traction Control - On or Off?

Recommended Posts

How do you know whether the TCS is switched on or off?

I hit the button by accident and saw a message flash on the screen to say that Traction Control had been switched off, but there is no light on the dashboard to say so.

Also, when you press the button again, there is no message to say the TCS has been switched back on.

Any idea?

Thanks.

Usually the slip indicator will remain on if the traction control is turned off

It resets to default when you turn the car off

That's what I would expect to happen... Just wondering if it might be different on the NX.

Well they usually have a few settings. If you press it it'll partly turn off and if you hold it down it'll turnoff some more.

It's never really off though

Thanks. I tried a long press, and indeed this disables the system and also the pre-crash monitoring system. The long press only works when the car is stationary. Another quick press switches everything back on.
