Drivers Door

Hi all

The door stop on the drivers door of my IS200 has developed an annoying click/crack type noise when opening and closing. I know where its coming from as I have had this on other cars but can it be solved by lubricating/greasing? Or do I have to whip off the door card and replace some part inside the door?

Any help/advice much appreciated.

Gavin :)

Just an update on this one.

After speaking to one of the mechanics @ Lexus Belfast and making enquiries as to what this problem was he said that it is usually the little pins on the check straps that cause this clicking noise

He said that the check strap mechanism on the IS200 rarely gives trouble.

So I picked up two pins (one for each front door) and put them in when I got home. To my surprise the clicking had gone :D

So if anyone has an IS with this problem then it can be easily sorted out. I know its only a minor gripe but I found it an extremely annoying one

Cheers

Gavin :)

P.S. Part # for the pin is 6861720011 and they are £2.39 each :winky:

I had the same problem, sounded terrible, lexus cambridge greased it first of all & it stopped for a day..then they changed the pin in the strap..all sorted now, apparently the securing pin wears after a while...mine started after about six months..so must have had a dodgy one in the first place!
