Scratch

I can beleive it but I have scratched my baby today. I was revessing out of a tight parking space in a car park in Kendal and scuffed the front bumper on a wall (yes I am a d**k).

So heres the sutu : - there are quite alot of small thin scratches (5in long) down to the primer, so I need to know my options as I have a small pot of paint and can t-cut it or do I have to have it done professionally(not a good option due to cost)

To be honist i had the same thing with my old lex plat ice but with the small pot of paint it turned out sh :tsktsk: t so i took it off.

The only thing is i am a amature

I would cut the area first (Scratch X - recommended) to see how bad it is before you make a decision.

My DIY paint jobs crap also. I've had superb results with spot area paint specialists such as Chips Away and those that use SMART paint technology.

On my last car (Audi) they sorted peeling lacquer, scuffed back bumper, scuffed front bumper and a trolley ding for about £300. Would have been more like £600 + from a dealer or paint shop

If I remember correctly, the bumper job alone was around £70 mark so hopefully shouldn't break the bank.

I did exactly the same with my GS the other week and have since fitted parking sensors. Got a quote from a local paint shop and they wanted £240 to paint the rear bumper.

My Dad is in motor insurance claims and he has been told to use Auto Restore on all minor paint jobs by a leading car insurer so I guess theya re satisfied with teh quality. They are owned by Autoglass and basically come out, erect a tent around the car that has full ventilation and heat treatment. They will do the bumper in about 3-4 hours and will charge between £120 - £150 so not bad at all.

Will be doing it soon so will let you know the results

I've had nothing but fantastic service from Chips Away. Again, around the £90 mark for something quite big on the back bumper

I will look for a local chipsaway, I thought it would be in the high hundreds. However, but I have a wedding to save for in early June so money is tight.

Where abouts are you based m8? i notice you were in Kendal when you scratched the car,im in cumbria to and the body shop i use did my whole kit for £200 :) good job aswell.
