SC430 Insurance

Limiting your mileage will reduce your premiums by a big chunk.

A specialist broker like Adrian Flux should give you a good deal. I doubt the mainstream companies will but insurance is often a lottery so worth ringing around.

An agreed value can also help tweak your premium.

Is there any reason you want classic car insurance?

I recently came across a article about car insurance paid for by the mile the car is used, the company is called " By Miles" and when I put on my details it came back with a base price of £150 per year for the car and then an addition 3p per mile traveled ( monitored via a OBD module) but with a max charge of 150 miles per day ( £4.50) so any miles over this daily cap are not charged.

Wow, what an instant reaction to my first post.I can tell I am in good Lexus company.

thank you for your replies, which I will pursue.

up till recently I owned an old 1953  Citroen which worked out at about £100 p.a fully comp ( 3000 miles p.a £7000 agreed value),

wasn't sure if SC 430 had reached Classic status.

I just tried Adrian Flux, who came in at over £100 more than my existing classic car renewal for my Lexus, and for lesser cover (my existing policy includes recovery). It's usually better to shop around at renewal time, but that's not me experience with my classic car cover.. Adrian Flux gave me a quote bit said " if it's not competitive our underwriters may be able to do better. Who the hell is going to faff around like that, when you already have a better quote. Give me a competitive quote up front, or please don't bother.
