Damage to front wheel arch

Recommended Posts

Hi hope you are having a good Christmas, I was until I drove over a loose brick on my drive and it went up into the wheel arch. Made quite a mess and I can't open the drivers door.

I am insured with LV. I would like to get it repaired at Lexus Chester. What would be the best way forward? Contact Lexus direct or phone my insurance and say I want it doing by a Lexus body shop? I expect the cost will run into several thousand pounds knowing Lexus repair costs. I think it will need a new wheelarch panel, side skirt and possibly drivers door.

Any suggestions.

Thanks

Paul.

The Lexus dealer I used took it in and arranged a loan car. All good I thought, however the third party “Lexus” approved body shop they use is also on the LV list of repairers. Lexus were not happy as LV refused to let them deal with it on a basis that the standard of work would be the same and be much cheaper as they won’t pay the Lexus premium. They had words between themselves but I needed my car back so was happy to let whoever deal with it, LV won in the end.

Well it's gone to the LV approved body shop - KC Autos in Winsford. They have mixed reviews but they are local and convenient. Feel free to say how good they are but I'd rather not know of any problems you may have had with them. I used them once 20 years ago on my Honda.

Aaaah I fell into that trap 2 years ago. My car was rejected twice and on the third occasion the paint split and bubbled on the rear wheel arch 2 days after it was returned. . Annoying as I'd just traded it in. A deal was done that the bodyshop ' Nationwide' would get it sorted. Lexus had to reject it again as the rear suspension had been incorrectly refitted and the rear bumper was out of line. Car was 2 years old
