Headlamp left/right change

Hi,

 

I'm about to take my 2007 Rx400h to France and I cannot find anything in the manual about being able to switch the headlamps from left to right.

This was a feature on quite a few cars I've owned, anyone know if it is possible or what else I can do to avoid dazzling our French friends?

You don't need to do anything if the headlamps are Xenon (do a little 'dance' when you switch them on). 

There's a letter from Toyota/Lexus knocking around on these forums somewhere where someone has contacted them to ask the same question. Aha, found it - post No.3 in the following topic:

Thank you for that, very interesting. My inquisitive mind is saying "why would the AFS affect left/right glare" and I know that the dip left is quite pronounced on these cars. However, I will print out that snippet in French in case of "Les flics"

I suppose because it swings to the left on left-hand bends. Maybe just having the beams 'straight' makes the difference between needing adjustments or not - just a guess.
