Is this a new problem, or something that has always happened? Are you in sport mode or just normal?

It might be a feature to prolong the life of the transmission.

Ive only noticed it happening the last 4-5 weeks, it occurs in both normal and sport mode! before hand eg in sport mode I could have reeved it hard but once the car hit certain limit she changed up the gear itself but now it won't change until I lift of accelerator.

Transmission not shifting down if the speed is above a certain limit, as well as an auto shift up if you hit those limits in a lower gear is part of the safety features for the protection of the transmission in most modern transmissions (I don't know about yours specifically).

Your description that it isn't shifting UP when prompted is definitely not normal. There's an outside chance of a reset working (Battery disconnected for half an hour or so), in case a forced shift up has caused it to get stuck.

How are the shifts/kick downs when driving in D?

Thanks for the reply!

No problems with kick downs whatsoever.
