Is220 front hub

Recommended Posts

Hi all ,

I’ve recently bought my first lexus which is an 2007 is220d , the nsf front hub bearing needs replacing , ive got the new hub and took the calipers , discs, hub nuts off etc but I’m stuck as how to get hub itself out .

Do i need a press or just continue with brute force ?

cheers in advance

If you have removed the 4 bolts that hold the hub onto the steering knuckle then it should come out but they do often get stuck. Try some penetrating oil / put the bolts back on, 1/2 turn loose, and hit them with a mallet / wheel back on the hub and tighten and jerk to give you more leverage / special puller - slide hammer. You don't need a press.
