Try this company, my Celsior is insured with them, low excess as well!

I used to insure mine with either A-Plan or Performance Direct for around £300.00 a year fully comp but now use a classic car insurer (Footman James) as it is my 2nd car and does very little mileage.

Hi.

Please feel free to give us a try for insurance if you like.

Regards,

Dan.

Rather taken with a Japanese Car not sold in the UK but wondering if it is possible to get insurance for it as it may be rare in the UK.

Is it listed by Adrian Flux?

Its running gear is exactly the same as an LS430 or Celsior and its called a Toyota Crown Majesta.   2004/5 is the year model that I'm considering.

Hi there,

Yes we can cover the vehicle in question - and our insurers will rate the same as the UK equivalent or thereabouts.

If you require a quotation please message me your full name and a contact telephone number and I can contact you.

Kind Regards,

Dan

Sorry to disappoint you but a 2005 JDM Celsior with 290 BHP available and a 21 year old driver is going to cost you big time and £2.5k ain’t silly.

I’ve just insured mine, the problem was that I have had “classic” insurance for the last 5 years and my max NCB had “expired” so I had to start from zero.

Most companies wouldn’t even quote me, one insisted on a Thatcham alarm being fitted even though it already has the equivalent and another required a minimum of a year’s NCB.

Adrian Flux were the only ones to offer me a quote without the above conditions, OK limited mileage, that’s no problem but the premium was double what I last paid on “normal” insurance on the 1994 Celsior.

Also bear in mind I’m 62 with a completely clean licence.

Steve, that's a real bugbear when having only a classic car, the need to keep up NCB discount by also running a daily. I think no claims discount only lasts two years. Given that classic cars are usually insured  on a limited mileage basis and owners are known to be more careful with their cars in terms of maintenance and use, it seems totally unfair to me. I use RH Specialist insurance for my LS400, and always found them to be pretty good, and competitive

It certainly is Hugh, my other “daily” was a company vehicle which qualified me for “classic” insurance on the 1994 but of course the NCB expired, Adrian Flux actually allow 3 years instead of the normal 2 but again I was well past that also.

My “Classic” insurers Footman James wouldn’t even consider the 2004 Celsior even as normal insurance cover so I’ve left that as it is. At least I can use both cars now although the 1994 will have to go soon due to lack of garage space.

these cars thrive ( well, maybe not totally thrive ) on being left out in the fresh air with often minimal and sometimes more so, use

Mine have been testament to that ......  don't over worry yourself about her being left out in the winter cold ......... she'll cope fine I'm sure

You'll make the right decision whatever :wink3:
