Hi

Having the engine warning light as well as check VSC on I cleaned the EGR valve which seemed to do the trick last time but I am still having problems alluding to DPF. After having a dpf specialist run a diagnostic check he insists that it is the oxygen sensor either needs cleaning or replacing.

I can't find anything online to show the oxygen sensor on this model (IS220D) I've gone to a local garage and the guy was adamant that the diesel models do not have oxygen sensors?

Can anyone help with this please?

IS220D models do have an air fuel ratio sensor - see attached pic. Not sure if it's actually an oxygen sensor as used in petrol models but it is clearly what the first guy meant. From the workshop manual it looks as though you have to remove the front seat together with loads of trim and access the sensor via a hatch in the floor. Don't know if there are easier ways.

Hi johnatg

Thank you for this info, I've got the below from Google which make me believe this could be it.

"An air/fuel sensor can read a much wider and leaner range of fuel mixtures than a conventional O2 sensor. That's why they're also called “wideband” O2 sensors. Another difference is that A/F sensors don't produce a voltage signal that suddenly changes on either side of Lambda when the air/fuel goes rich or lean."

I'll give it a try and let you you know.

thanks again!
