iPod and Bluetooth Audio

Recommended Posts

rx450h gen 3 - Am I right that Bluetooth Audio streaming is a Max of 2 devices that can be registered?

Aux in USB in centre armrest under the storage container -- I tried plugging a traditional iPod in there and it would not read anything, it was a 3rd party cable.  Before I try find an original cable does it read iPods?

On your first point, I have no idea.

On your second point, I have no idea because I don't use any apple devices. I hate them with a vengeance and wouldn't give them house room BUT...

This is just a guess but isn't the iPod an actual player - maybe it has to be in storage mode so that the car system can access the music files to play rather than the iPod playing them?

Maybe I'm talking complete rubbish, I don't know. I just have a USB flash drive plugged into that USB socket in the centre armrest and the car audio system sees the music files on it and plays them, simple as.

With regards Bluetooth your apple device has a different Bluetooth system in it as do all apple devices. If you had an android device you can register quite a few but only use one at a time.

As for using auxiliary in I'd suggest a conflict between the player and car. Check settings in both as the aux in should work with any device. Try a different cable as possibly the one you have is faulty.

Will try another cable.

Interesting you say Android can have more devices.  The Phone section on mine has 4 slots, so I don't see you can add more and the audio has 2 slots.  Be interested to know how you got more then 2 audio's registered.

It's not a matter of having audio units connected it's phones. When I had my RX I had to delete 4 phones registered to the car.

Hmm interesting as 4 will do nicely.  When the missus ever bring the car back I will check this out.

Original iPod cable did the trick. Can’t believe there no access to Playlists.

Regards Bluetooth audio I think 2 is the limit as I have 2 registered and 4 phones. And if one of the phone only ones it connected it will not allow the audio only the 2 registered can do audio.
