Perished tyres

Recommended Posts

Has anyone experienced this new phenomenon, you take car for service , the tread is excellent, but the tyres are “ perished “ , cracks etc ?

just had 2 new tyres fitted but after speaking to friends I’m beginning to wish I just left it for a year or two ?

Is it a Michelin tyre?

They are notorious for sidewall cracking after a few years

The date code will be on the sidewall of the tyre, it will be an oval shape and have 4 number in it 2514 for example.

So that’s week 25 of 2014, I’ll get a pic of mine on my 300h

Is it ? That’s useful to know .

The garage recommended Yokohama or Nexus , which were cheaper but actually rated better so I chose

them .
