Text messages

Is it possible to receive text messages via the car? I have paired my phone (Iphone 7) and can make and receive calls ....it is also paired for audio....I dont seem to be able to set up to receive text messages......anybody have any ideas?

I have an IS300H F Sport premier pack (2019)

It should be possible,

On your phone try. Settings, Bluetooth, Lexus, Select Show Notifications.

No expert but I think this works.

Id have to agree with Paul's advice above but just in case it doesn't work the other way u can do it is to unpair the phone and pair it again and then the permissions message will pop up on your phone to allow the car access to your messages.

Definitely possible. Certainly my 2015 GS and now my 2015 RX450h read them to me. Can't remember whether my 2014 IS300h did though

What was the solution?

Not 100% sure ....I had already ticked the Notification option ,but there was nothing to indicate it was successful......it might have been the fact I hadn’t actually received a text message whilst in the car.... and I hadn’t tried to text myself....what numpty I am🤪🤪🤪
