Will European Lexus adopt Google maps as a navigation option? Just back from the USA where with my hire car - not Lexus, I was able to use Google maps via my smart phone linked to the car's navigation screen via Google Auto app. It was far superior to the system on my UX (and my former CT200h).

I was told by my dealer on Friday that they had a visit from Head Office last week and that they were told that Google maps / Car Play / etc will be available on new models (via connection to a compatible mobile phone) with the MY20. Importantly, I was also told that this functionality will be retrofitted to ALL post 2017 models... so long as they have the premium, wide-screen satnav.

I didn’t think that Car Play & Android Auto  could be retrofitted to all post 17 models. I thought that it was just a select few with the newer style software. Time will tell I guess !

As I said: will be retrofitted to post 2017 cars, but only to cars with the wide screen, premium satnav.
