I work for an executive charter airline and we fly pop stars, football teams, and celebrities such as Bruce Springstein, Phil Collins, Madonna, Westlife, most car manufacturers incliuding Lexus for the new 430 Sports launch (got some nice headrest protectors). They all have time for you and are not at all as they are portrayed in the press, they are just like everyone else and they can have their bad days, just ask Rod Stewart!

I will see if i can dig out some more of those headrest protectors and let you all know, they are white with Lexus in Black, standard airline type.

Cheers, Gerry

PS anyone tell me what are those red squares and the WARN 0% next to my name ?

Seen Chris Eubank in Brighton driving along in his rig. Fatboy Slim shopping with Zoe Ball in the Laines.

Davina McCall - she was ace! Very down to earth and always up for a laugh.

Whilst at Uni in Edinburgh (Heriot Watt) Ron Jeremy visited and spent the night in the Uni bar blotted out of his head. He sat at our table most of the night after doing a talk on his "film" career :whistling:

Everything was going fine until one of the girls asked how big he actually was.......

Needless to say all the guys were quite jealous of the attention the bloody git was getting!

And yes he is an ugly, fat, bald guy with a really big **personality**

Had us in tears of laughter most of the night :D

Was at RAF Cranwell and met Colin Mcgregor who is now a pilot (I was doing my flying aptitude for the navy there), he was there for I think his final batch of RAF training (officer) whilst there for the two days Ewan turned up to take his brother out for a pint and some crisps, this was just after shallow grave and so he was kind "b-list" then. We all sat in the pub near the airbase eating crisps and talking about edinburgh :D

Also I work across the canal from Manchester United and regularly see the players in the local sainsburys at luchtime and also a lot of corronation street people go there too :D -- Maxine was the best buying pasties !!

Also met one of the blokes from The Bill, (tall stocky one, thin on top with a bit of a crooked nose if that helps identify him?!) and Noel Edmonds - I used to help out on his charity events, Airborne.

  • 4 weeks later...

Long ago I was taught family law by a woman who has now been made the first female 'law lord' and a few years later I met another law lord who wrote a very nice foreword for my first book. OK, so you are not very impressed with any of that, but you might possibly have been impressed if you had been lawyers.

What else? 20 years ago I took a very small (blink and you missed it) part in a daytime TV programme on the legality of the Belgrano sinking (yes, it was perfectly legal). It wasn't much of a programme, but afterwards I met with Admiral Lord Lewin (first sea lord) and had a friendly argument with anti-war critic Tam Dayell MP.

Apart from that, I declined an invitation to stand in a row and be presented to Prince Charles (not much of a royalist you see) and - now this at last WILL impress you - I once nearly had breakfast with Ulrika at a posh hotel in Torquay. I will say no more about that because it would be much less impressive if I did.

Roland Gift (out of the Fine Young Cannibals) on a London Tube once in the early nineties. He was a right miserable :tsktsk:

Stu Francis in a supermarket near Bolton. Thankfully I didn't shout "I could crush a grape" at him.

Emma Bunton at Dublin Airport - she was luvleee!

Robert Carlyle in the BA exec lounge at Milan Airport - spent about an hour chatting to him about Glasgow and films and all sorts of stuff as our plane back to England was delayed (he'd just finished filming a James Bond film so he looked a little rough).

Most of the cast out of Last Of The Summer Wine (I lived in Holmfirth for a while and kept bumping into them).

Various other minor "cult" celebrities that probably no one has ever heard of.

I met loads of US porn stars in the Foundation Room @ Mandalay Bay in Vegas earlier this year- it was just before the adult convention and it was great :D

I played dumb though - Sydnee Steele - never heard of her ;)

I usually get disappointed when you see some of the stars in real life as they look massive on the screen but they end up being tiny!
