Audio muting

I collected my Lexus ES 300h Fsport (standard 10 speaker system ) last week. It was a dealer demonstrator. I've spent some time getting to grips with the settings and have a question that I hope someone can answer. My previous car enabled muting to adjustable degrees of media or radio being played so that navigation messages can be clearly heard. Is there such a setting on my car? If so how can I access it??

In Set-up General or Nav there is a volume scale from 1 to 7 for the Media System & the On-Off Radio Switch on the Dash.

On my car I have set 7 to be able to hear my Speed Camera Bleeps & set my ML to level 20 

Phone call settings are independent of the above

No. The system does not allow for audio to auto-mute to allow interruptions from the Sat-Nav. Older Lexus models had this functionality (although it could not be adjusted), but apparently it was removed because of owner feedback: a lot of people used to complain about the radio being muted by the satnav when they were in the middle of listening to news bulletins etc. All you can do is increase the volume of the satnav so that you can hear directions being given over the audio.

Wow, that’s a step backwards..should still have the facility to auto mute
