I've looked online but don't see a concise / definitive answer.

Do I need to inform DVLA that my car has a changed suspension, ie. I'm having the original air suspension changed to coilover.

Look forward to hearing from you.

If suspension is not mentioned on the DVLA Form V5, then you do not need to tell them Ron.

That's what brought up the subject.

Turns out present insurance company will only continue my policy until the date of suspension change, then they would terminate the policy, and give me a £7 refund 😄

Had to start a new policy 10 days earlier to cover the change in suspension.

Choosing new insurance is a mission !

All done now for another year !

Blimey Ron !

Which was the Insurance Company/

How long did your policy have to run?

Was £7 refund a reasonable sum?

Did they quote an increased premium for the new policy?

Did you go elsewhere to take out a new policy and was it cheaper than the one offered by your original policy?

And if you get all the questions right Ron, you can come back next week to try for the Big Prize !!

Right, here goes !

The Insurance company is Prudential.

policy would run to 27th but terminated on 17th

So, £7 for 10 days, I'm okay with that.

Had to go elsewhere and no it was not cheaper.

Prudential policy says no to modified vehicles, suspension specific.

Big shame as their renewal was £265 and the new policy is £345

And, yes, I trawled the web for hours 🤪

Thanks Ron. The only unreasonable response seems to be their policy of not insuring modified cars, even though the modification was not in the sense of a modification designed to make it go faster, or be noisier.

For future reference I understand that the following companies are often not available via compare websites, but they can be telephoned or emailed for quotations.

SAGA

NFU

LV
