I must have at least 5 or 6 of these emails every day, how do they get my address

My Yahoo email address was great. It was virtually SPAM free until recently when I was giving out my email address to insurance companies to recieve quotes. I must recive about 20 a day now. Is it possible they sell these email addresses to 'marketting' companies?

You think someone for all these marketing companies must think:

"Hold on guys, have you ever noticed that we send out thousands of emails per day, and getting nowt business back.. Maybe we're doing our marketing the wrong way?"

But then again, think of how much you get in the post aswell.... Not me though, moved into a new house and any post (spam) that comes for me I just send back, saying not "known at this address". May try it for emails to.

Trouble is the economics are in their favour - it only takes one in 1000 or so to reply and they're making money. Pay someone £100-£200 to spam 1 million addresses and sit back, watch the money roll in.

i once gave a false email address to one site so that i could get 'free access password to unlimited porn'! all the viagra and teenage skin spam is addressed to the false name and is re-routed by the domain name i used. although, my AOL address is starting to get it too, but aol usually sort that. never used a c.card tho, but it won't be long before someone realises that they can get porn just by quoting the card details they find on discarded shop receipts. that's when the fun will begin! wonder if any of the 7,000 paedos caught in america will use that as a 'get out of jail free card'.

i get lots of these emails each time i log on to my email account not to mention enlarge your p**is ones!rubbish!

some of them i unsubscribe but they still send you more nxt day.so i wonder if 'unsuscribe' means subscribe you rubbish without you knowing.

sometimes this happens if you not sign out your email & view other websites.

I changed my email address because of the spam. Before I did, I was getting around 150 emails a day. :yack:

I now use a forwarding service, with pop3 mailboxes and webmail access, if I need it.

Whenever I have to register with a web site, I set up a new email name and forward this to a specific mail box. If I start getting any spam, I can forward this address to a bit-bucket, and I don't even see it, let alone download it.

These lowlifes are a massive pain to anyone who use the net. Whatever you do DON'T ask to be removed from a mailing list. This merely confirms they have hit a valid address.

Yep, all you've done there is confirm your email address is valid.
