LEXUS GS radio Differences

Hi Guys,

So I have a 2006 model GS450h with the CD and tape player. Very annoyingly it doesn't have Bluetooth Audio. The GS that is 2010 onwards doesn't have a tape player and apparently does have Bluetooth audio. 

My question is, if i were to get hold of a 2010-2011 unit, would it a) fit on my car, b) work and c) give me Bluetooth audio. 

Any advice is much appreciated!

Forget this and the potential issues. Get a GROM unit like I did. Provides Bluetooth audio streaming (and via USB if you so wish) while retaining the standard Bluetooth phone capability 🙂

Groms are great, but an even cheaper option is a FM transmitter thing. I have one plugged in under the armrest out of sight and it does sterling work broadcasting whatever’s playing on my Iphone.

While you can’t skip tracks from the steering wheel I don’t find that too much of a problem as I just ask Alexa or Siri (if listening to amazon Music or apple Music respectively) for next track, new album etc.

Will look into the GROM thing. The FM transmitters are good but in London, its hard getting a good signal due to all the many radio stations pirate stations etc.
