OBD1 and Techstream?

A couple of questions.

Am I correct in thinking the Z30 (JZZ31) Soarer has OBD1?

As far as I can see OBD1 (round?) to OBD2 adapters are available but would ordinary code readers work?

Is Techstream compatible with OBD1?

Thank you!

OBD2 interfaces can read all codes, at the moment is the "universal" standard and any ordinary code reader can give the code number for response to errors. The translation from code number to explanation is standard for many codes but NOT for all codes that are typical for single producers.

Techstream is the Windows program specific for Toyota and Lexus and can read also standard OBD codes for other vehicles but is intended to be used with Toyota and Lexus using a standard VCI interface  or a mini VCI cable (far less expensive): you can not use Techstream with a standard OBD2 interface or Bluetooth one, while with a BT interface you can use many apps that can read OBD codes and clear errors or make some changes in personalization (like Carista).
