definately looks handsome.. i think most will on the road will mistake it for a Bentley due to the grill design and emblem. looks well built and i like those alloy wheels. something different from the norm and if reliability is on par with Lexus i think most who may not be interested in German Luxury cars may be swayed.

The difference here is thirty years on from when Lexus introduced their flagship model is that the LS400 was better than what was available and a lot cheaper this is cheaper but it is way off better in fact for a luxury brand its a bit tacky .

Just about every Korean car I have seen or been in, I always think 'close but no cigar', and having watched this I still feel the same about the Genesis.

On the other hand I was saying the about the  Jap cars I drove in the early 80's, where as now I would recommend just about any Honda or Toyota/Lexus over most other manufacturers

Who knows; maybe one day I'll be driving a Korean creation.

I might have to disagree. i think it does tick all boxes of what a Luxury car should be if one is not a badge snob. the interior has been thought out well without the need to place buttons and knobs at places just for the sake of it. it looks like a tank and if reliability is on par with Lexus, sensible car buyers may be swayed to try something different.  but i know it will be a flop in UK/Europe as its not "German" so most wouldn't touch it.

5 litre V8 and 420Bhp is decent, but not for £68k. Needs to be cheaper than that as they need to undercut the competition substantially.
Good luck Hyundai on establishing your luxury brand in the EU market (UK market is now irrelevant).
Nissan tried and failed with Infiniti.
