I saw that from the right side of the front of my car the paint coming off. I contacted the  Smart Insurance for repair. I did not buy the car with this damage and it has happened in the last few weeks and I have noticed it. I don`t know where the damage happened but it is not a result of I having an accident. Probably the previous owner  has scratched and covered it with the spray.

My claim has been declined due to the damage not being covered under the Smart Insurance policy. The policy cover for chips. scratches,  scuff and dents up to a total damaged area of 30cm and 3mm in depth. My damage have 24cm and 1mm in depth. The policy don't cover peeling and previous damage. Ridiculous! I paid £499 for the Smart insurance policy and now I need to pay myselffor repair this damage.  I immediately canceled the policy

The car is less than 3 years old and under manufacturers warranty . I take it that it was purchased from a Lexus Dealer. If that is the case take it back to the dealer and insist that they correct the damage. Lexus dealers often don't prepare cars to the approved used car standard, and they may well have done the paintwork, or rather had it quickly smart repaired. They generally don't use a Lexus Bodyshop for cosmetic work.
