RX300 Power Windows don't work

Recommended Posts

Hi,

My '54  RX300 has the following symptoms. Drivers side power window works. All others don't - no response to drivers buttons or the individual.buttons on each door. It started of intermittent but now nothing.

So frustrating!

Lexus power windows need to be ‘reset’ if  the system looses its power supply ie Battery swap, the reset entails the use of each windows associated switch to open it half way and close it fully and keep (switch) in closed position for a few seconds after it has closed. This then allows all windows to work from drivers switch position.
Your problem of windows not working from their own buttons is not normally what happens if power is lost!

Firstly I would dis-connect the Battery - (negative) connection for a few minutes to force a reset to be required for window system and keep my fingers crossed!

Note: I am not sure on your model of car but you may lose any personal settings you have input for other systems doing this ‘reset’, please check before!

The window power buttons on the drivers door "apart from the drivers window" do not work after Battery disconnection. Operate the windows from each door switch to open them half way, and then close them holding the switch in the closed position for 5 seconds.

Thanks people so far. I've seen various clips on YouTube about lowering the windows to halfway etc but the problem I have is that the individual window switches don't work either. The only window switch that works is the drivers window  🤔

You say you have replaced drivers switch panel, was this with a new one or a known good one or a unknown second hand one? and have you rechecked all connections to it and associated fuses especially if you never disconnected Battery when replacing this switch.
