We went for a 100 mile run out today and I can confirm all is well with no rattles.

I put a tiny bit of dry film lubricant on the parts of the flap which engage to align the flap in the body when you close it. Voila, it now springs open fine. I hope it stays like this. 

Regarding the loan car, it was a UX. My partner has a NX so the comparison was interesting. I will write a thread in the UX section of the forum on my opinions.

@Pritchard I have Bridgestone Turanza Runflats on my LC and these seem reasonably OK in most conditions (you have to be careful with 476bhp!). I was always very happy with Pilot SuperSports on my Aston and I found these were much better than the Bridgestone Potenzas

Glad the car is now sorted to your satisfaction.

I am monitoring mine before discussing with the dealer the upgraded parts now available.
