Check Engine And Trac Flashing

Recommended Posts

I just bought a 1999 IS 200 SE with 27,000 kms on it, by the way im from philippines and theres is no lexus dealer here so this car was imported when it was brand new, anyway I need an advice if there are quick remedy for my problem. sometimes the car's gas pedal wont work and both check engine and TRAC will flash same time, so after that ill turn off the engine and start again, the gas pedal will function again but the lights will still appear and after getting to my second destination, the lights will go off. Is there any parts that i should replace?

Sounds like the throttle motor is faulty although it could be the throttle position sensor etc. May be worth just cleaning the connections first.

If a fault occurs the engine check light will come on. If the fault clears for 2 or 3 engine starts the light will go off again.
