Auto headlight function

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, I posted about this problem a little while ago. Thanks to all for the information which was spot on, it was the sensor link which had failed due to corrosion. Since I have done the repair the dash light is no longer lit but the ‘dip’ head lights are too low. Can anyone advise me how to reset the dip headlight setting . Thanks DaveB.

I take it you replaced the linkage between the height sensor and the arm? In that case all you need to do is adjust the link to the correct length and the headlamp levelling motors will automatically follow the sensor until they are at the correct beam height.

It's not easy though adjusting the link arm under the car whilst keeping an eye on the beam height. But if you can contort yourself, you can see the beam raising as you adjust the link.

Hi Mark, many thanks for your reply. I have tried to do this but until yesterday had failed miserably to get the dash warning light to go out. However, the lights still go to a very low position after first going up/down as they should.

I will have another go when it stops raining. Kind regards.  Dave.

Hi everyone, update with this problem.

In the end after much grovelling underneath the RX, I have resolved the problem by manually resetting the headlight beam aim.

Hope this helps others with the same issues.

Thanks for your help.

kind regards.
