Hello Lexus club members,

I've just purchased Lexus GS450h on Saturday (have attached a couple of pictures). This is my first Lexus and I have to say that I love it. MY 2010, FLSH and has just done 70k on the clock, still feels brand new apart from the tires which are barely legal. It's currently sitting on some old Dunlops... are there any members here that have good experience with this brand or any other for that matter?

Also, given the age of the vehicle is it worth continuing the Lexus service history or are there any specialists mechanics in the London area which come recommended?

Any advice greatly appreciated!

Many thanks,

Nick

Hello Nick and welcome to the Forum.

I too have the same car as you and it is covered by the Lexus Extended Warranty Scheme. You can apply for it if your car is less than 10 years old and covered less than 140,000 miles. It costs approx 1100 for 2 tears cover and is worth every penny. Ask your local Lexus Dealer pronto if you are eligble as your eligibility is almost exhausted..

I also have the Lexus Service Plan (which has many benefits)  and suggest you consider one too. Full details of both are with your Lexus Dealer and on the website Lexus.co.uk.

My tyres are Kumho 215/50/17 All Season. They are very quiet runners and cost approx £85 each.

We look forward to your future contributions to the Forum and to receipt of piccies of your car in daylight !

Welcome to the forum Nick, you have chosen well.

It's good to hear that you like your new steed, what did you drive before?

Monitor your tyre wear as you might find your suspension needs a full 4 wheel alignment, I recently had the rears wear through to the canvas on the innermost section only (due to stuck rear toe adjusters).

A few of us are running Landsail tyres on our GS's, which have proved themselves to be very good and affordable.

Cheers, Lee

Good evening everyone!

Thanks all for your comments, I really appreciate it. Steve, I enjoyed your post about your new car and congratulations. John thank you for your advice, I suspect my car is out of the extended warranty, however keeping it serviced by Lexus sounds like the best option.  Lee, I used to drive a VW so this is a massive step up and don't need an excuse to go for a drive!

With regards to the Tyres, I had some old Dunlops and the car felt like it pulled to the left, I swapped them out for Goodyear eagle F1 tyres and got the tracking re aligned and it now drives perfectly - quite a noticeable difference.

I managed to take a few pictures of my car today during daylight hours which i attach.

Next steps are to treat the leather seats which have some minor scuffs and signs of wear and tear, any advice would be greatly welcomed.

Kind regards,

Nick

Regarding the acceleration. Very subtle but powerful.

If you have been creeping along on electric only for a mile and then floor it I suspect performance may be held back a little? Those 340 horses are not always in the stable.
