Hey everyone,

I hope you are all staying safe and keeping well in Self Isolation ?

I wanted to share a video of my IS 250 from when we were allowed out 🙂
I bought the car earlier this year and have only covered a few hundred miles on it (due to the global situation)

Ill leave the link to my car and I hope you all enjoy and stay safe!

Thomas

Have you discovered that the keyless entry is operated by touching the inside of the pull handle handle and 1/2 second later the doors unlock and then pull the handle?

If you try and pull the handle immediately you end up having to pull a second time like you did i the video.

Also, have you discovered the speedo can be programmed to change the backlight colour at different speeds?

Does yours have the rear electrically operated blind?

Only the SE-L model has the electric rear sun screen ( it's not even fitted to the ISF model )

The SE-L is easily identified by the fact it is ( again) the only model to have wooden panel inserts in the cabin trim ( and it is real wood, highly lacquered and supplied by Yamaha, the Musical instrument maker not the motor bikes!)

So unless someone has fitted an electric rear sun screen ( and in my opinion it would be major surgery!) then it has not!

The model designation of car can be found by the Nader pin on the off side ( Drivers ) 'B' pillar.

Disappeared down a little Wikipedia Ralph Nader rabbit hole then Paul

Haaa, fair play to you for delving deeper!

I retired from Fire & Rescue Service recently ( after 28+ years) ending up as an RTC trainer, specialising in HGV’s so have a different slant on cars than most!

I can imagine! And interesting that you bought a Lexus.

I was aware of Ralph Nader and the work he did for car safety but I'd never heard of it referred to as a Nader pin. I also ended up reading about the Tort Museum which was interesting and also the real story of that very popular meme, the woman who sued McDonalds after she spilled coffee in her lap.

It must be more pronounced in the USA ( compensation hungry lawyers and all that) but not mentioned on that article is the episode whereby Winnebago had to give a customer a new replacement RV because he got up out of the drivers seat while on the highway after engaging Cruise Control to go and make a coffee in the kitchen area! Needless to say the vehicle crashed soon after but because it did Not say in the owners manual you should not do this he got a new RV ! Beggars belief...But the older I get the less shocked I get.
