Question Regarding Brakes!

OK, i have clunking once again!! on the front brakes.

Having taken the wheel off and inspecting the disc, hub, caliper etc..... There is about a mm gap each side of the hole in the disc where the studs come through, thus enabling you to be able to move the hub ( by pushing the studs ) about a mm before coming into contact with the disc.... i was wondering if this is what is causing the clunking... or is this normal?

thanks gents

Hi Scott,

Yes that little gap is perfectly normal, the clunk sound that u are hearing is the pads touching the caliper framework - put a tiny bit of copper or ceramic grease on the end tangs of the pads and the noise will stop.
