Evening Guys,

Noticed today that my nearside wing mirror isn't fully dipping when I put the car into reverse, it moves very slightly but not as normal..  The mirror seems to be functioning properly when I move the mirror switch to 'L' and use the directional toggle switch, but no t when the car is put in reverse.

Any ideas?

Probably dried out lubrication or dirty contacts on the limit switches, remove mirror glass, clean inside the housing and give any moving parts a good dose of WD40.

If you need help removing the mirror glass safely let me know.

No problem, the mirror glass is clipped in at the bottom and has hooks at the top. Gently push the mirror glass at the top so the bottom sticks out.Slide a cloth (yellow duster is a good selection) behind the bottom of the glass and bring it out the sides. bring the ends of the cloth together and give a sharp tug. This should release the bottom clips. lift the mirror up to disengage the two top hooks, remove the electrical connections and the mirror is out.

Put something soft under the housing in case you drop the glass!

To refit reconnect the electrics, engage the top hooks and press the bottom clips back in using your thumbs on the glass, you will hear them engage.
