Hi everyone, New to this group! I am preparing to deliver my Lexus IS250 in Hong Kong to UK. Concerning the conversion to mph, is there a way to electronically change the settings or do I need to put in a new physical speedo? If so, do I also need to readjust the needle/ pin? Thanks.

Hello Vincent and welcome to the LOC,hoping you find the forum educational and informative, with regards to the IS250 I am not sure if you can change the odometer from km to miles without physically changing the speedo cluster(I know you definitely can on the ISF)

Not entirely sure,if you get one in miles I would like to think it would read in miles, however there are mileage correction businesses in the uk that could possibly plug your car into a laptop via the obd plug and correct it that way(assuming your car has that facility),hope you understand what I mean 👍

I already own a JDM imported vehicle which was already converted to MPH before purchase, there are companies which can carry this out or you can buy the electronic unit for DIY installation.

Below is an example

If not already fitted you will also need a rear fog light retro fitted, some simply add one below the rear bumper which looks naff or integrate it into the rear lights, it will of course require the wiring and a tell tale switch fitting on the dash.

Just make sure you have owned the car for over 6 months in HK to avoid import taxes and VAT.

I’m assuming you have already organised collection from the port, MOT, insurance and the other paperwork.

Finally welcome to the LOC. 😀
