Brakes query

Recommended Posts

Hello guys

We've recently bought a Lexus IS300h. I was wondering whether the car has brake pad wear sensors to let me know when the pads are running low?

Also is there a DIY for changing the brakes discs and pads?

Thanks again!

Hi,

No the IS300h doesn’t have pas sensors in them.

Are you doing front or rear disc and pads?

Thanks for the response, a little disappointed that such an otherwise well specced car doesn’t have the wear sensors. But that’s nothing to slag an otherwise brilliant car i suppose 🙂

I’ll probably be looking to do the Discs and Pads up front and just the pads on the rear.

They probably will have a “mechanical “ sensor on the pads, just a little tab which rubs on the disc when the pads getting low. You’ll hear a squealing noise when this happens.

They sure do have a sqeal strip on the pads. No need for wires that break and put on unnecessary lights.
