NX300 Premium pack road tax

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Looking for a bit of advice.

Does the premium pack NX300 with metallic paint qualify for the 'luxury car tax' so cost an additional £325 a year extra? (after the 1st year)

I've had 2 garages tell me contradicting information!

Many thanks in advance,

Alan

Hi Alan

As of the April 2020 price list the NX Premium Pack is £ 39,315 (actually £ 39,260 for this discussion as it is minus £ 55 for first registration fee which isn't counted for the tax threshold) and standard metallic paint is £ 670, so no, it doesn't exceed £40k to hit the additional tax. If you went for the special metallic paint (Sonic White, Sonic Titanium, Azure Blue, Blazing Carnelian) then you would be over £ 40k.

I wonder if anyone is confusing the Premium Pack with the Premium Plus Pack.

Last year the 10.3inch screen, 10 speakers and power adjustable steering wheel were included in the Premium Pack.
These features have now been moved to the Premium Plus pack which would take the cost over £40k.

Check the prices and specs here

Thanks for the replies.

It's the sonic titanium that I was looking at.

The only bit I wasn't sure about is that in the brochure the 'list price' is 38400 but otr is 39315 with the initial ved.

If it goes off list price then even with the addition £900+ for sonic titanium paint it would be under 40k. Or does the initial ved count towards the initial price?

Thanks

No wonder there is confusion on this. Motoring websites are giving conflicting advice. I have found this presentation and the questions at 11.10 provide the answers.

Brilliant! Thanks.

Black and white that the VED doesn't count towards list price.

Thanks again

I've just picked up a Sonic White Premium Sport Edition with panoramic roof. Comes in at £40,910 but minus the first year tax and registration fee it's £39,995

Confirmed via the paperwork on collection that I won't be paying the luxury goods tax. 😀
