At this stage I don't know the answer to that, I've just found out it's available for my system and is available on three sticks as an update.. Im just waiting to hear how the update goes..

I have just been advised by my local Lexus dealer (Teesside) that it will not be available to them until some time in October.  Training is planned for their staff in the coming weeks, and they are also advising to NOT try to download yourself, as somebody in Spain has just wrecked the system in his car and it is not covered under warranty.

I am going to err on the side of caution and leave it to the experts.

Unfortunately he did not know what the pricing will be.  I also expect it to be around £80 though.

He also did not know anything about the update until I mentioned it to him.  He has checked with the people at Lexus and has confirmed that it is coming but not until October, as stated earlier.

I can let you know about what i was told whilst having a service at my Lexus dealership. Please take with a pinch of salt but.....I was told £100 if done as part of my car being in for a service and £150 if not.

I decided to take the plunge and upgrade. All went without a hitch and its pretty straight forward (even though there are lots of steps) .

Here are some pics, I thought I took a pic of the main map screen, but clearly didn't.

@Ed659 I only went around the block so couldn't really test much.

But doesn't seem like the HUD works with android auto navigation. Also the voice button doesn't seem to bring up Google assistant.

Maybe there is a setting somewhere...

@jbi507 I suppose it could be a setting issue...  there was a setting issue illustrated earlier in this thread by another user... granted it would have been an apple setting.. (and I'm Android) e.g..

Hi Ed659 - see my post on siri being quiet - turns out carplay sets the voice volume to 1 by default. Not really had chance to play with it much yet - but initial impressions are it seems easier, apart from the audio level from siri which now seems ok.

Just installed the update on my NX.  A bit long winded with the multiple USB sticks but every went according to play.  Took just over 90 mins in total.

That's good news Phil. I'll probably do mine over the weekend.

Just wondering........ with regards to the 3 USB sticks you used - did you adhere strictly to the capacities of each stick as per the upgrade instructions (i.e. 1 x 8GB; 1 x 16GB and 1 x 32GB)? The reason I ask is that I only have 16GB sticks and since the files for each upgrade phase are all under 16GB I can't see why I can't use these.

I used 1 x 8GB and 2 x 32GB.

I see what you are saying about the files fitting on the smaller stick.  I wonder if they have used different sizes to make it easier to know which is which.

The stage with USB stick 3 does appear to do a lot of copying/verifying.

Having looked at the contents after the update they are now the same as before the upgrade.  There is chance it was using the extra space on this stick to decompress or temporarily store some data.  I personally wouldn't want to risk a smaller stick just in case.  A 32GB stick of good quality (Sandisc) can be had from amazon for £6.

This is good news, just need to get hold of the software myself now..

Accessing the software from the tech site will cost you about £4.50 - access the TSB as detailed earlier.  The links the files and the necessary passwords to unzip them are in the TSB.

Thanks for the prompt reply Phil.

Yeah - I did wonder if the extra capacity was maybe due to the upgrade writing some temp files back to the sticks. Probably prudent to ensure that each stick has sufficient capacity for this possibility.

An interesting find... my upgrade this evening gave me Nav Software version 1120.  I noticed that the tech site back in April had a 19MM MEU upgrade to 1140, so I've just installed that.  I'm guessing that the Retrofit package was created before the 1140 update was created.  I know that Covid delayed the release of the retrofit (the files in the downloaded ZIP files for the retrofit have a range of dates, mostly late 2019 but the latest appears to be March 2020).

As part of the retrofit, when I now access the Lexus Online section of the display there is now an option to update the maps over the Internet - will be interesting the see if it works later in the year rather than doing a download on the computer:

You also get a message telling you that you have upgraded when you first access this screen:

That's interesting.

Was there anything in the 1140 changelog to suggest that it would enable map updates directly?
