Mk1 Windscreen Seal

My windscreen got replaced a while back and the wind noise is a lot more than before, even at low speeds. See attached photo, it shows what I think it the cause. The trim in the top corners is not flush against the screen. I can't remember if it was flush against the screen before replacement.

Can another Mk1 owner look at their factory fitted windscreen seal and let me know if the black trim should be flush against the screen? If so, then I'm gonna have to find a water resistant glue to help bond the trim to the screen.

Mine as a gap between the seal and screen at the sides of the window - top fits flush.

Why not try some masking tape in afew places to see if wind noise goes - if it does, then u know this is the problem - out with the silicone gun then !!

doesnt that stop the water from entering the car when you wind down the window?

also check the mirrors for wind noise... thats usually the problem.. mirrors are pants

Just had new screen fitted today gap at sides flush on top.

Ive checked my ls front screen and the rubber is flush all the way around,top and sides.There is a slight gap between the strip down the side by the roof pillar and the rubber and there is very little wind noise when driving.
