Change of seats

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. I currently own a 2000 lexus is200 and I just bought seats, I got the drivers seat in no problem. But the problem is with the passenger seat. The old seat was a manual and my new seat is electric powered so I was wondering does anyone know how I can wire it up so I can get the seat to move. Thanks

Hi Louise and welcome to the LOC.

I would begin by checking under the passenger front seat carpet to see if there is a spare previously unused connector tucked away under it, if there is job done, make a cut in the carpet under the seat ( see where it comes out on the driver’s side for a reference) and plug into the seat.

If not you will have to get a new loom made up or find one from a breaker.

I am hoping that the new seat doesn’t have airbags or the whole job gets very complicated!
